Democrat Nominee, United States Senator for Arizona April 2010- November 2010 Serve as Democratic nominee for United States Senate from Arizona running against 4-term incumbent John McCain. Received more votes than any other Democratic nominee in history versus the incumbent after winning a four-way Democratic primary. Oversaw campaign staff of up to 30 full-time employees in addition to hundreds of volunteers with an overall budget of $1.3 million dollars. Raised nearly one million dollars in under seven months.
Captain, United States Air Force JAG Reserve Corps 2009-present Reserve officer attached to the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base 355th Fighter Wing office. Individual Mobilized (IMA) reporting to Staff Judge Advocate to execute a variety of legal exercises as part of service commitment. Legal services including creations of wills, power of attorney, health-care issues and providing advice on real estate, family law, and military justice issues. 1st LT March 2009-October 2010.
Councilman, City of Tucson, Ward 2 December 2007 – April 2010 Hire, coordinate, manage and develop staff of over one dozen staff and intern positions. Represent the neighborhood, business, and social service interests of the residents of Ward 2. Developed relationships with over 150 community- based, faith-based, and non-profit organizations to strengthen constituent services. Work collaboratively with members of Tucson City Council on issues of public safety, economic development, and growth management. Chair of Public Safety Sub-Committee. Business Consultant, KB Home Tucson Division President, John Bremond July 2004 - August 2007Serve as ad-hoc member of Executive Team consulting on internal business operation recommendations and land acquisition. Worked throughout the organization with over two-hundred employees. Oversee creation of Community Development program with goals of leveraging philanthropic budget, enhancing community development and governmental relations strategy. Television Show Host, “Consider This” on Tucson Channel 12 May 2006 - January 2007 News and interview program with a focus on regional issues and improving the quality of life for Tucsonans. Engage with community leaders on all sides of policy issues in order to develop informative content on over 20 issues ranging from ballot propositions, to neighborhood issues, state legislation, and education.
Legislative Aide for Business and Agriculture, Office of Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva, Arizona District 7 January 2003 - December 2006 Serve as liaison and work on legislation pertaining to the business and agricultural community in District including organizing monthly round-tables and managing relationships. Assist congressman in developing relationships with over 50 business based organizations and over 500 businesses in the congressional district to maneuver federal procurement, write legislation, and analyze policy.
General Manager, Gateway Ice Center July 1997 - April 2004 Manage all aspects of the business including marketing, sales, operation, and skating programs as well as hiring, training, and operation of over fifty employee staff. Create marketing plan and special events to generate traffic of over 10,000 monthly visitors. Develop budget and manage revenue for an overall operation generating more than $1.2 million annually. Oversee construction of 35,000 square foot addition of second rink facility.
