October 3rd, 2004- Jewish/Latino Coalition Dinner
The Southern Arizona Jewish/Latino Coalition Dinner took place each Fall to recognize the efforts of leaders from both the Jewish and Latino communities that are working for the betterment of the Tucson community.
In 2003, Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva identified that, while being two of the strongest minority groups in Southern Arizona , the Jewish and Latino communities have many common issues that can be more successfully addressed through a collaborative effort.
The Southern Arizona Jewish/Latino Coalition Dinner funds a mission for Jewish/Latino high-school students to visit Washington, D.C. Additionally, the coalition, which is a collaborative effort of Congressman Grijalva’s District 7 office and the Jewish Community Relations Council host quarterly round-table discussions on issues important to both communities.
This event features special guest speakers such as members of the House of Representative, United States Senate, and State Governors that have been active in Jewish and Latino issues.
